Jonnye Opal Bradford, 101, died Monday, October 19, 2009 at an Abilene medical center. The daughter of Annie (Jacobs) and Jesse B. Campbell, Jonnye was born on October 9, 1908 in Newberg, Arkansas. Twelve years ago, she moved from Hemet, California, to Abilene, Texas. Mrs. Bradford was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Abilene. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Her husband, Garland B. Bradford; parents; brother, Junior Campbell; and sister, Veda Borger, preceded her in death. Jonnye is survived by one sister, Fern Hughes of Oklahoma City, OK, and numerous nieces and nephews including Gene Hughes and his wife, Jan, of Abilene. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. A graveside service will be held next week in Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California. |
