Charles Stanley ?Stan? Helton, 83, of Pleasant View, died on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Alive Hospice at Skyline Madison Campus. Mr. Helton was born on Dec. 15, 1928, in Nashville to the late John and Bertha Edwards Helton. He was a retired pattern engineer for the shoe industry. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Pleasant View First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Johnnie Ruth Scarboro; infant brother, J.T. Helton; and son-in-law, Gene Hesson. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise Cuff Helton; son, Paul (Janice) Helton of Pleasant View; daughters, Brenda Hesson of Murfreesboro, Beverly (Michael) Prevette of N. Wilkesboro, N.C., Carolyn Helton of Pleasant View and Donna Helton of Pleasant View; sisters, Evelyn Faulkner of Nashville and Dean (William) Davis of Madison; grandchildren, Paula, John (Tosha), Jason and Elizabeth (Dan); and great-grandchildren, Sarah and Emily. Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Rev. Jonathan Lail and Rev. George Clark officiating. Burial follows in Sycamore Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery with friends and family serving as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alive Hospice. All donations may be sent in care of Austin & Bell Funeral Home. Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View is in charge of the arrangements. |
