From pages 312-315 of "Palatine Famiies of New York: by Henry Z. Jones. Christian Haber of Saltzberg in the commune Homburg in Hesten-Castel md. Anna Gertraud, d/o Michael Werner of Rheinfels on Rhine on 21 Dec 1711 (West Camp Luth. Chbk.). The village of origin was 6431 Salzburg (24 km. n.e. of Alsfeld), records in the registers of 6431 Raboldshausen (3 km. further n.e.; Chbks. begin 1692). The probate grandfather of the emigrants was Engelhard Habber who d. in 1699, aged 81 yrs. and nearly 5 months (HJ). The bpt. of the emigrant Christian Haber took place prior to 1692, but he probably was the s/o Didymus Haber, as Ditmut Haber, his wife, and 6 ch. were on Capt. Jno.
