Katherine Cross, 91, passed away on Friday, June 21 2013 in Perkins, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25th at the Lost Creek United Methodist Church with Reverend Max Rudd officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Perkins. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Katherine was born December 15, 1921 to Noel W. and Kessie Mears Jacobs in Perkins, Oklahoma. Katherine attended school at Pleasant Valley in Coyle, Oklahoma. She lived in the home built by her grandfather on her mother’s side and resided there until her death. In August of 1943, she married Oather Arthur. To this union five children were born. Katherine and Oather divorced in 1969, and Katherine married Herschel Cross in January of 1970. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herschel; son, Dr. Nolan Arthur, and his wife, Bobbi Arthur; brothers, Eldred, Olan, Chester, Rex, and Ross Jacobs; sister, Lyla Jewell. She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Braziel, and husband, Mack, of Wellston, Oklahoma; son, Charles Arthur, and wife, Cyndi, of Norman, Oklahoma; daughter, Debbie Jordan, of Arlington, Texas; son, Tony Arthur, and wife, Julie, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; brother, Bill Jacobs, of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother, Don Jacobs, of Jones, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. |
