Freeman Dillahunty's name is listed on Coal Miner Monument #4, located in Altus, Franklin, AR. The following obit was provided by Bruce Coy Dillahunty, a grandson of Freeman: Freeman A. Dillahunty (note, per his son Coy Dane, Freeman had no middle name nor initial), a member of Enon Primitive Baptist Church near Ozark, Arkansas, since June 14, 1941, died at an Ozark nursing home, August 26, 1985. He was born in Johnson County, Arkansas, December 6, 1888. A large attendance at the funeral in Ozark, August 27, attested to the great respect held for him in the community. In the church he was especially known for seeing to it that ministers were always able to get to appointments and to other meeting. A favorite scripture was in Second Timothy, third chapter, which speaks of the scriptures as being given that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Surviving are five children by his first marriage to Ora Hall who died June 2, 1948: Mrs. Irene McSwain, Fort Smith; Harlan, Fort Smith; Hoyt, Kansas City, Missouri; Dane, Jonesboro, Georgia; and Doyle, Little Rock. Also surviving are a sister, Laura Castleberry, Clarksville, Arkansas, and a step-son, O. L. Gotcher, Hot Springs. His wife by second marriage, Olga Level (note: correct spelling is Leavell) Dillahunty, also preceded him in death. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Burial was in Highland Cemetery in Ozark.
