Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon, May 23, at 1:30 p.m. in the Muncie Chapel church, two miles north of Wheaton, for Mrs. Laura Gibson who died Monday of last week in a nursing home in Kansas City. Mrs. Gibson, 88 year old former resident of Barry County, had lived in Kansas City with a daughter, Mrs. Eula Hicks, for the last 12 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to the daughter are two sons, Arch Gibson of Plainview, Texas, and Frank Gibson of Bloomington, Indiana; a sister Miss Rose Clark of Rocky Comfort, MO, and 10 Grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday afternoon May 22, in the Weilert Southside chapel in Kansas City, after which the body was returned to Wheaton, for services and burial in the Muncey church cemetery, on Thursday.
