Per James Herschel Holden, Marshall Neil Pugsley is a graduate of Texas A & M University (B.S. 1956, M.S. 1996) and also a graduate of the Presbyterian School of Christian Education (1960) and of the Texas Christian University Ranch Management program (1988). He was an employee of Industrial Scientific, Inc., and Vice President of Ricca Chemical Co. In recent years he has been an educator and rancher. In 1963 he was ordained as a ruling elder of the Presbyterian Church and has been active in Christian education. Mr. Pugsley has been active in genealogical research. Published Sunday, January 25, 2009, in the Wise County (TX) Messenger. Funeral for M. Neil Pugsley, 74, of Decatur was to be at 11 a. m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport with the Rev. Lucia McKee Kremzar officiating. Burial was to be at Sunset Cemetery. Pugsley died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, in Fort Worth . Born Sept. 28, 1934, in Fort Worth to Harry T. and Mildred (Vowell) Pugsley, he was a graduate of Carter Riverside in Fort Worth. He married Kay Clendening Dec. 17, 1954. He was an Eagle Scout and Vigil Order of the Arrow. He graduated from Presbyterian School of Christian Education in 1960 and served 17 years in various areas of Christian education in Waco. He was leader and director at the annual Recreation Workshop and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport. He graduated from Texas Christian University's ranch management program and was active in the Texas Agricultural Extension Program in Decatur. He earned a master's degree in agricultural education from Texas A&M University. He worked a small ranching operation in Wise County. He was a reserve police officer in Fort Worth through the REACT program and was elected DCAPT-W of the Eighth Coastal Region, U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He is survived by his wife; son, Kens Pugsley and wife, Reneau, of North Richland Hills; daughters, Marsha Owen of Port Aransas and Nancy Pugsley of Bridgeport; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gay Durden and husband, Mike, of Lewisville. Honor guard was to be Mike Coyne, Kenneth Morris, Ray Baker, Rusty Washam, George Ott and Scott Strange. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport, annual Recreation Workshop or the USCG Auxiliary Life Ring.
