Lanty Laman Goforth, 74, of Pleasant Plains died Oct. 21, 2003, at his home in Pleasant Plains. He was born July 23, 1929, at Batesville, Ark., to Elver Lanty and Maggie Roberts Goforth. He was a retired contractor and a Christian. Survivors include three sons, Danny Goforth of Austin, Ark., Richard Goforth of Lynn, and Lantz Goforth of Pleasant Plains; a daughter, Sherry Landers of Batesville; three brothers -- Zeb Goforth and Billy Goforth, both of Batesville, and James Goforth of Denmark; 11 grandchildren -- Tracy Goforth of Alexander, Peggy Goforth of Austin, Eric Goforth, Jesse Goforth, Angela Goforth and Jeremy Goforth, all of Lynn, Chris Goforth and Hunter Goforth, both of Pleasant Plains, Tanya Landers and Patrick Landers both of Batesville and Shelley Carson of Jacksonville; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille Milliken Goforth; a grandson, Daniel Goforth, and a granddaugher, Diana Goforth. The funeral was Oct. 24 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Phillip Miller officiating. Burial followed in Weavers Chapel Cemetery located north of Batesville. Arrangements were by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Pallbearers were Tracy Goforth, Eric Goforth, Jesse Goforth, Jeremy Goforth, Chris Goforth and Sean Carson. Honorary pallbearers were Hunter Goforth, Farrell Harris, Wayne Green and Jerry Tolliver.
