Burial Arbon Cemetery, Blossburg.

John B. Fowler enlisted in the US Army on 4 Jan 1946 in Wilkes Barre, PA. He was born in 1927, had completed high school, was a carpenter and was single with no dependents. This may not be "our" John B. Fowler as his obit and step grand-daughter recollections indicate he served in the US Army Air Forces during WWII (though he would not have been 18 until 21 Jan 1945 and WWII in Europe ended with the act of military surrender signed on 7 May 1945).

April Moore, a step grand-daughter of John Fowler via his second wife Irma June Lewis, provided the following recollection of John in Jan 2015: "I may not be biologically related to him but my mom and I lived with my grandfather for most of my life and he was an amazing man. He was a B29 pilot in WWII serving in Europe and then worked building radio towers in Puerto Rico. When he returned to Tioga County he got a job as a drafting engineer for the Tioga County housing authority, without having attended any college. He survived being shot in the head in the Virgin Islands in the 70s. He was an avid hunter and fisher and active in his community, a past president of Kiwanis, and active in the Blossburg United Methodist church."
