The Madison County Record, Huntsville, AR, 13 Jun 1963. Clark Fowler, 70, of Route 1, Huntsville, in the McConnell Chapel community, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Sunday night in the Madison County hospital. He suffered the attack at his home about 6 p.m. and was taken to the hospital where he died about 9 o'clock. A lifelong resident of this county, Mr. Fowler was born May 17, 1893 at Truth, the son of John W. Fowler and Sarah E. Sikes Fowler. He was a veteran of World War One, and was a member of the Hayes-Smith American Legion Post. He was a farmer and retired highway maintenance employee. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Ogden Fowler, of the home; two sons, Leonard Fowler and Leon Fowler, of Huntsville; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Garrett and Mrs. Geneva Mowery of Fayetteville; three brothers, Cline Fowler of Banner, Wyoming, John Fowler of Ucross, Wyoming, and Jim Fowler of Huntsville; one half-brother, Tobe Sikes of Scranton, Ark., a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Harwood of Orondo, Wash.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ here Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with minister Leerie Ball of Johnson conducting. Burial was in the Alabam cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Military rites were held at the graveside by member of Hayes-Smith American Legion Post and Legionnaires served as pallbearers.
